An OPINION about Lyme Diagnosis problem

0 2 years ago

Ok, let’s get something out of the way first.

I’m usually a busy and happy person. I do yoga, exercise, socialise and walk my dog (love dogs don`t mind cats), but I have been feeling miserable for the past three years, compounded of two years of miserable life in ignorance, and one year in frustration, why?, because that is the amount of time that my `beloved doctors` took to Formally Diagnose me with Lyme disease. Two years!!

Do you want me to tell you what exacerbates me the most? The fact that I spend 1,000$ monthly to control a disease that formally I did not know that I had!

I have been taking more than 20 pills a day for the past 16 months, along with herbal supplements and tinctures. Keeping my disease under control currently, is costing me every time more and more to keep the flares away.

Lyme disease is a bacterial infection that can, if caught within two weeks, sometimes be treated. However in my case, this didn’t happen and unfortunately, I have gone on to develop Late Stage Chronic Lyme Disease. Chronic Lyme Disease is not recognized by healthcare providers, and therefore no public treatment is currently available – only highly-priced private care by `specialized doctors`.

I went onto the internet to try to find out if anyone was at least trying to make this fact aware because I was already on the knowledge that my case was the same as many people.

I found out one company, ONE! (it is even ridiculous) that has the mission to develop an early diagnosis system for Lyme Disease, they are called VERAMARX (you got to love ALTHEALTH, anywhere else would ban this post just to say the name :).

Let me tell you a little bit about what I found out on their website.

Let the copy/paste begins! ;0)

Veramarx’s immunoassay of 10 inflammatory biomarkers has 92% sensitivity and 99% negative predictive value (NPV). This makes it very accurate, especially during the early phase of Lyme Disease when effective treatment is possible. Furthermore, with 99% negative predictive value, a negative result provides 99% certainty that it’s a TRUE NEGATIVE, compared to current tests that miss 60% of the cases.

Unlike the problematic two-tiered testing system currently recommended by the CDC (ELISA and Western Blot tests, which focus on antibody detection), Veramarx measures multiple biomarkers known to occur soon after infection.

Now, I will tell you something just to wrap up this post. If you are thinking that I gain something by mentioning Veramarx here you are wrong! They are not even on the market yet, they are actually looking for funding in order to be active, and you know what?

I hope they make it happen for the wellbeing of the American society who is exposed to one of the fastest spreading infectious diseases in the US.

By for now.

Share this if you care, and if you love dogs;o)
